im still here

it gave me all the good and the bad feelings a film should give a person. from the opening scene to the close, i couldn't quite make a verdict on this. having taken a few days to put across my opinion, i'd love to say that i enjoyed it ... but the truth is, it made me feel really bad, sorry and hatred towards joaquin phoenix's character and all the love and warm fuzzy things towards cassey afflect beautiful cinematography ... a real film producer and pretty clever shit of a man, so yes, i'm still undecided.

it left me wanting to know a lot more, still slightly confused and unsure if what i was seeing that was fake but meant to be real, was in fact real and during the fake spell, phoenix engrossed in his characters roll so much, it eat him up and his life.

yes, do watch it, you may enjoy, but don't expect all the answers to be given to you on a plate.

smash hits

hella ... i welcome you into my life with open arms!

not a thicky like last month, the titanic mega star graces its cover and shocks with a photo shopped face and tilda swintonesque hair cut. miss winslet, you look fresh.

very jil sander focused (as is everything these days), there are many a colour blocking moments with a splash of a pastel palette.

tomorrow, after a molto massive few weeks, i will be taking a few hours to peruse this master piece.

WOW aida at the royal opera house

yesterday, i was lucky enough to be invited along, by work, to attend the matinee performance of aida at the royal opera house. i even got to sit in a box, how very decedent of me.

having only ever seen the dress rehearsals for the anna nicole smith opera, i can honestly say this was my first real experience and i genuinely loved it, the love, the hurt, the sorrow, tragedy and the death, it was captivating.

like a musical but only with 110% more effort put into the costumes, dancing, signing, it was truly inspirational.

yes if i were a little richer i would be there once a week, but it’s that whole thing of the beauty only being obtainable to those who can really afford and appreciate it. i'm not sure i would rather be saving for a night at the opera than a pair of shoes, but no musical will ever compete with this.

grand parents are the best

there isn't any competition when it comes to how amazing my grand parents are/were. most of my childhood memories are those i spent in the their gardens, at the thompsons picking vegetables, riding in my 'boogie' (handmade for me by my grandad), eating amazing chocolate cake or drinking extremely sugary tea, or at the wilsons drinking ice cream sodas/soda streams, having the bouncy castle in the garden or hanging out with my millions of cousins.

sadly in 2002 nana betty (wilson) and grandad earny (thompson) passed away. was pretty much my first ever experience of death and the people that i spent every weekend with were gone. i wasn't a child anymore and the reality of these types of things are on a much larger scale. a few years later granny mary died too.

now, grandad tommy is my last remaining grandparent and as much as a crazy old fool he is, i love sitting with him when i get the chance and listening to his random but very repetitive stories.

firstly he claims he danced with marilyn munroe when living in america, and she was his first choice over my nan! clearly where the wilson's get their 'man about town' gene from.

secondly he tells my boyfriend about how he watched a programme on photography once and the girl just pulled her knickers down ... we think it may have been some late night chanel 5 epic.

and, probably my favourite, in his fake american accent (depending where in the world he is telling the story from, he changes as though this is how he spoke back then) he claims he flew a stolen aeroplane and his co pilot told him to 'take it down on the roof, tom" which apparently they did and wheeled across roof tops in said stolen plane!

o he also did a bungee jump aged 70, yes he is mental, but as my last grandparent alive, i love him to pieces and cherish every moment i get to spend with him.

anyway back to the main reason for my post. all four of these people have been very influential in my life and thought me, along with my parents, right from wrong.

crazy tommy though, in his crazy ways once went and got a tattoo for my nana whilst drunk, which inevitably spelt her name incorrectly, so in honour of the wilsons last night i got this ...

BETTIE

i will when the time is right and find a meaningful object and dedicate 15minutes of pain to the thompsons.

i love you all and miss those gone dearly XXXX

in awe of his creativity

there are many a moments when i am proud of ben, but none more so than when i see his name in print.

currently gracing a double page spread in the 10th edition of quotation magazine, his j.w. anderson studio shots stand amongst the beautifully written words, of the informative interview.

with love, i await his vogue debut.

"as I don't believe in hell, i'm not afraid"

WOW ... in the last 2 months i would probably tally up about 9 sub titled films that have filtered through the lenses of my eyes, engrossed my brain and diluted my very normal existence into me wanting to be something that i may never be, a cheating sexual predator ... i joke but most of the films follow this rule.

i'm no Enrique Goded but, there is something i find inspirational about him. maybe that's too deep for a fictional character but he is passionate, caring, strong willed and a phenomenal writer, and all this ... i like.

highly sexual 'bad education' is beautifully written and although watching two men make love, isn't on everyone's agenda, this film will still turn you on.

"i would be proud to partake in your pecan pie"

a surprisingly funny and feel good film which i borrowed from (i hate to say this) the boyfs collection. at all costs, i'd normally try to avoid this kind of stereotypical chic flic, but i really did like it and i'm sure as with the other  getawachinggg!

"we did it"

ladies still got it!

moss is still churning out her beauty on the catwalk ...

214 topshop magazine

looking like something straight from a seventies summer, topshop have taken inspiration from the old school photographic film, thrown in flares, dinky denims, dip dye hair and crochet knits and come up with this ...  not for everyone, and i have my doubts, dislikes and donts but the 214 magazine has launched online today.

more likely to have been shot on hypsmatic than a hasselblad ... i joke, there are a few, to quote ‘a la hendrix’ moments in there, but maybe, just maybe and here is hoping ‘no one is watching’.

to tryhard topshop ???

colourblockingcommotion

jil sander is causing a colour blocking commotion right now with their bold desert hues, gorgeous greens and maxi stripes the celebs can't get enough. in yesterdays times, they featured over a several page spread and i for one have all the items on my wishlist. the more obtainable is the orange plastic beach bag, this will fly out of the shelves and has already sold out in many a store. at £90 it's the perfect way to treat yourself to a little bit of the action without breaking the bank.

in a sneak peak the ln-cc debuted some of their pieces and i know that they are web readying as i type. WAHAHAHAHAHAHA fingers at the ready, this shit will fly!

dior vs galliano

after much speculation and gossiping backstage, in a battle of fashion biatches, dior finally announced the sacking of john galliano. galliano had been shouting his big gob off and making anti-semitic remarks including 'i love hitler'. erm each to their own, christian.

looking chic at the casual age of 50, the chief designer received the boot after slurring racists abuse to two italian ladies, which, as is the case these days with swanky mobile phones ... it was all caught on camera. woopsie john.

legal action has kicked in and poor little john will be shimmied out of the paris based office ASAP.
lets hope he learns from his mistakes and this makes him not breaks him. all press is good press after all.
