my new plan is to not have a plan ...
growing up, every little girl dreams of her white wedding to prince charming, 2 babies, one a boy and one a girl, family dog, kip and her white picket fence cottage with roses around the door.
when lycra, soda streams and rocket lollies were acceptable the first time round, polka dots dresses and miss matching socks were the flavour of the month and i longed to be a weather girl ... this was most definitely my dream (prince charming was probably zac morrison from saved by the bell) ... but ... 20 years on how things have changed ... firstly, i hate dogs, i now never want to live in a generic happy looking house, zac morrision aint so fruity, im definitely not a weather girl :( and like most things in my life, and im sure many others, things just dont go to plan. which, now i love and this is my new plan. i want to be spontaneous, different, not caught up in that fairytale borkiness.
sooooo anyway ... the tables turned on what could have been a perfect plan on 2nd may 2011. 4 pregnancy tests and a whole host of emotions later i found out that ben and i were expecting our first baby. SHIT!
after what seemed like a life time (1 week) we decided ... what the hell who plans these things anyway, were cool, spontaneous, go against the grain ... lets have a baby! still massive SHIT!
it turned out that i was only around 6 weeks pregnant so, going on what folk say i had at least another 6 weeks before i should really tell anyone including work. obviously we told our nearest and dearest and they were all over the moon, if slightly shell shocked.
9 weeks of nausea, headaches, fatness and facial rashes have now passed and i think it is fair to say i feel fine and extremely happy and excited.
a few fridays ago we went for our first scan, something that can’t even be described as weird, wonderful, magical or mythical ... it was just truly unreal.
